There are rules for men too
There are rules not only for women in this village. But there are rules for men too. Men cannot drink alcohol or eat non-veg during this period. Not only this, husband and wife do not even talk to each other during these five days. According to the villagers, if the people here do not follow this tradition, then something bad happens to the woman after a few days. In this tradition, husband and wife cannot even smile at each other. It is mandatory for the men of the village to follow this tradition as well. According to the villagers, if a man does not follow this tradition, the gods get angry and then something bad happens to that person.
When did the tradition start?
According to the villagers, their village was captured by demons centuries ago. The demons used to take away the well-dressed married women of the village. To protect the villagers from the demons, a deity named ‘Lahua Ghond’ appeared. The god defeated the demons. Now the villagers believe that if the women wear beautiful clothes, even today the demons can pick them up and take them away, that is why women remain without clothes. On the other hand, if a woman wants to cover her body, she can simply use a sash made of wool.
